This is the latest update that a PKR source says BN is leading with some 700 votes in “LAYAR” and there are only a few polling stations yet to close.
It is also said by the source that BN has retained Balingian, Beting Maro, Belaga, Saribas, while it is leading in Jepak, Katibas, Ngemah and Bawang Assan. There are 979,796 registered voters, including 18,363 postal voters, in the state.
Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof, chairman of Election Commission (EC) said that the first official result for the 10th Sarawak Election Saturday is expected to be announced by 8pm and the last by 11pm, provided all goes smoothly. The purpose of the election is to elect 71 representatives to the Sarawak State Assembly (Dewan Undangan Negeri in Malay).
