Sarawak Election 2011 Result

The polling has been completed in sevral polling stations and these are closed. According to the latest updates, PKR has been defeated in all 12 polling districts counted so far. All polling centres have closed and counting of ballot papers have started. First polls results are expected to be announced by 8pm. We would like to share with you that this election has became the biggest in the state history, whereby 213 candidates are vying for 71 seats. There are 979,796 registered voters, including 18,363 postal voters, in the state.

Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof, chairman of Election Commission (EC) said that the first official result for the 10th Sarawak Election Saturday is expected to be announced by 8pm and the last by 11pm, provided all goes smoothly. The result page would provide visitors an interactive web-page incorporating interesting click-ons. The purpose of the election is to elect 71 representatives to the Sarawak State Assembly (Dewan Undangan Negeri in Malay).
